About Oasis

Mission Statement

Oasis Women’s Ministry is a gathering for women to be refreshed by connecting with the heart of the living God through Bible study, vibrant worship, meaningful relationships, and prayer.

Our History

In 1974, Dona Fisher and the Friendship Foundation launched a weekly non-denominational women’s Bible study called Change of Pace. In 2000, a branch Bible study for women in southern Lancaster Country, Change of Pace South (COPS) was established by Carol Wever and Peggy Huber. Carol served as director until her death in 2019, and the director’s torch was passed to Jennifer Hatch.

In 2024, COPS moved into a new stage, establishing its independence with its own board of directors and adopted the name Oasis Women’s Ministry of PA. The name Oasis was chosen because it offers a restful and refreshing pause on the journey of life. We seek to offer women an opportunity to enjoy fellowship, worship God, and study the Bible in a supportive and nurturing environment.

New Bible studies are offered two to three times a year, in September, January and March. Materials from well-known, qualified Bible teachers are used and small discussion groups are led by dedicated leaders.

Women of all ages and all faiths are welcome! Whether you are a beginner in matters of faith or a seasoned Christian, you will feel comfortable and you will learn! We welcome you!
